As 2021 approaches, we start to think about making new year resolutions. Popular resolutions often involve losing weight, getting fit or saving money as Christmas tends to be a time where we over indulge! I invite you this new year, to set an intention rather than a resolution (which to be honest, most of us break by the middle of January!)
Deepak Chopra said "intentions are the starting point of every dream - the seed of creation."
Intentions are smaller, focussed, achievable steps to make change rather than one big promise! Think of intentions as 'how to make your life better'. For example, if you want to lose a little weight - your intentions may be to eat more fruit and vegetables, to take long walks outdoors, to practice self care, to laugh with friends or to drink more water.
If you are not sure what your intention should be then journalling or brainstorming can give you focus. Find a quiet moment to stop and think about where you would like to be in 2021. Ask yourself, what you would like to achieve with your work, home, family or hobbies? Then see if you can set positive mantras or statements to help you achieve it. Lastly, don't be too hard on yourself! If you don't manage to achieve it straight away, either adapt or let it go and pick up when you can!
Wishing you a healthy, happy and blissful new year!
